FAQ

How do I sign up for access to the Japanese used car auctions?

You can sign up here. We will give you a username and a password so that you may begin using JCauc.

Are there any registration fees or membership fees?

Before we bid for you, you must transfer a deposit of 100,000 yen or in the case of a more expensive vehicle, 10% of the proposed purchase cost.We will notify you when this deposit arrives. This deposit is refundable (less bank fees of 5000yen) after you purchase your vehicle, or in the case of being unable to purchase your vehicle for whatever reason.

How often are the auctions?

Auctions occur from Monday to Saturday and most start from 10am Japan time and sometimes finish late into the night.

Will I be told the sell price of the vehicle even if I don't purchase it?

If you bid on a vehicle you will be told the selling price.

Other companies have many people bidding on the same cars, so although I bid over the selling price, they didn't sell it to me. Will JCauc do this?

Unlike the larger companies our clientele status is still small enough that this is not a problem that we face.

I am very busy. Can I get you to look for a vehicle for me and bid for me?

Yes, we can look for and bid for vehicles for you.

I don't want to buy a vehicle that will not be compliable in New Zealand?

Our sales and bidding staff always check the emission codes of cars being bid on for New Zealand and if you place a bid on a non-compliable vehicle, we will not bid without a second confirmation from you (some people want to buy non-compliable vehicles for New Zealand).

What does the auction sheet say?

Very good question. Even grade 4 vehicles may have comments such as "corrosion underneath" or "rust underneath" written on the auction sheet. We translate all issues written on the auction sheets for your confirmation before bidding.

How do I know how much to bid?

We provide previous selling prices for similar vehicles. You can check these prices and VERY closely predict the selling price of the vehicle you are interested in.
